I've been painting the inside of my transit van conversion. Because I can, having all this free time. On the road Boxing Day, I wonder where we'll end up.

Re: Mk1 Caddy Camper Self Build Advice
Lightest structure that's easy to build is a monocoque of 5mm marine ply bonded to softwood frames. I've done it twice now. For a small unit you can get good results with 25mm frames and use 25mm celotex or kingspan for insulation. Seitz windows fit nicely with this arrangement, and they're double g...

How do you clear an air lock in a plumbing (if that is whats happening here) Connect a short pipe between hot and cold taps in the bathroom, turn on the hot, then the cold, the pressure differential will drive any airlock out of the system. Works in Scottish plumbing, not sure about you southern sa...

Re: Newbie saying Hello from the Isle of Wight
Have you been able to fully check the bag itself? Is it a new system, or did you inherit it? If you've checked all the connectors and valves, this may be the only remaining possibility.

Welcome Ann, and husband of Ann. Airbags are quite easy to fit yourself if you are reasonably competent. When you buy a kit, be careful you specify the vehicle because not all kits will fit. I fitted a drive-rite kit to a ranger Supercab. Your vehicle may not be the same, since mine was a 2003 model...

Re: Hello & how do I mount a Northstar to a Hilux!
I had that set-up with my Ranger and Northstar. It was snug to the front of the pickup bed so didn't move under heavy braking, but I can confirm there was some distortion around the rear buttons after a couple of years use. This is the standard method Niche Marketing uses to fit all their demountabl...

Re: New member with Mk1 Caddy but NO camper yet!
Welcome to the group. I believe the Tandy Pony is a good fit for the caddy. It's a fibreglass shell and so is not a bad purchase even quite old as long as the gel coat has survived. I had one and it was an easy load to carry. They come up for sale in the uk from time to time. Good luck in your searc...
