Re: saDgit's flat-faced pop-top

Yeah, self-adhesive weather strip is a definite no-no for me. I'm hoping to figure something out from the extraordinary wide range at Seals Direct. I like the zip idea a lot though - that'd be neat.

Re: saDgit's flat-faced pop-top

I've completed the framework of the camper body and, remarkably, it looks just like the original drawing. That's a surprise and a relief! :o https://s15.postimg.cc/uq071vvh7/virtual.png https://s15.postimg.cc/wj33ppvy3/small_complete.jpg So yesterday I started on the elevating roof - these gently cu...

Re: saDgit's flat-faced pop-top

Life keeps getting in the way but finally I've made some time and some progress on the camper. In the last couple of days I've completed the floor, so that is now insulated and skinned inside as well as out. I'm perhaps being over cautious but I decided to give the inner floor a coat of epoxy sealan...

Re: Suntrekker on T4 Double Cab project

Incidentally if you want a copy of the spectacularly uninformative, 2-page Suntrekker handbook I have it in .pdf format. Sorry, I thought it was .pdf file but it's a Word .doc - it's at http://www.wiltshire.eu.com/Suntrekker_handbook.doc I've had no joy trying to find the P100 weight either but if ...

Re: Suntrekker on T4 Double Cab project

I saw your website where you'd fitted the Suntrekker on a Ford Ranger. I don't suppose you ever weighed your suntrekker, was interested to know what they weigh without the legs but everything else. No, sorry, I never did bother weighing it. Curiously, when they were sold new, they were always sold ...

Re: Bizarre Problem!

Triiicky! I wonder of you took it for MOT with the camper on if they (somewhere other than where you've already been) would simply do it as a 'motorhome', i.e. as Class IV. When we ran our American C-class on an E350 chassis it was always MOT'd as Class IV even though it was registered as Private HG...

Re: Gas in France

Hi Tony, If you've got the space I'd recommend fitting a refillable cylinder - Gaslow do an excellent system with all the necessary parts. When we had our S.Karosser EC8L which had space for two 6kg cylinders I fitted one Gaslow cylinder and one Calor lightweight which gave us the best of both world...

Re: saDgit's flat-faced pop-top

Hi Clive,
The timber is nothing flash I'm afraid, just regular unplaned softwood from the local builders yard though it is relatively knot-free and straight. Joints were all done on a compound mitre saw. It makes up for lots of my inadequacies as a joiner!
